Getting there
The race starts at the top of Aston Hill (adjacent to Wendover Woods) with a sweeping woodland descent before climbing up to Hastoe and joining the Ridgeway National Trail.
The route follows The Ridgeway to the village of Aldbury and the first pitstop at 10.6km. The next section is both the most beautiful and hilly as runners complete an out and back to Ivinghoe Beacon.
By the time runners return to Aldbury and start retracing their steps to Hastoe, the halfway point is long gone and the race turns flatter and faster on a varied section through Cholesbury and into Swan Bottom and the third and final checkpoint.
From this checkpoint at 38km runners follow the Chiltern Way until it rejoins The Ridgeway to the impressive Pavis Wood. With just 4km to go the end is in sight, but there is one final climb to test your endurance before you can relax with a medal around your neck.
The course record is set by Rory Pond in 04:14:56.
There will be three aid stations on route, these are at - 11.5km, 26.3km & 40.3km.
The aid stations will contain the following:
