Chiltern Ridge Half Marathon

This race and wait list has now reached full capacity.

The Chiltern Ridge Half Marathon is set for its inaugural event on May 11th 2019.

Our half marathon route will combine challenging undulating woodland trails & fast runnable sections, providing a testing but accessible race.

The Chiltern Hills & our event base sit 45 minutes North West of London and form the perfect stage for this event.

Route details

21.2km (13.1 miles) 550m 550m

The race starts in Wendover Woods and winds its way through the rugged woodland out onto the historic Ridgeway National Trail. Following this pathway you reach Hastoe Village Hall (7.5km), our first aid station and checkpoint.

Leaving Hastoe your steer South onto the Chiltern Way, the start of a 9km section on through some beautiful countryside. A brief stop at The Old Swan pub for our second aid station will leave you in good condition for the final stretch.

After 16km you will have completed a full loop and find yourself back on the Ridgeway, re-entering Wendover Woods. Here you retrace your footsteps in reverse for the final 4km, dispatching you at the finish with a medal around your neck.

Elevation profile

The total ascent/descent is around 400m - there are one or two bigger hills but prodominately the terrain is underlating and allows for long runable stretches.

Aid stations

There will be two fully stocked aid stations on route, these are at the approximately - 7.5km, 13.5km.

The aid stations will contain the following:

There will be toilets at the first aid station along with the start/finish.

We will not be providing bottles, so it is essential you have a refillable bottle or cup with you.

Entry details

Entry to the Chiltern Ridge Ultra Trail is £27.

This includes a £2 'Unattached Entry Fee' that will be removed during sign-up if you're a member of a Club affiliated to a National Association, or a registered member of the TRA.

Your registration includes the following:

  • Entry to the Chiltern Ridge Half Marathon

  • Bag drop at event base

T-Shirts

Unique illustrated finishers T-shirt can be purchased with your registration for £20. These will also be available on race day for £25.

Transfers

You are welcome to transfer your entry to another runner before April 30th 2019.

Withdrawal

If you withdraw from the race before April 11th you will receive 50% a refund. After this date refunds cannot be offered.

Mandatory Kit

The following items are mandatory:

  • Trail running shoes
  • Mobile phone (fully charged at start of race)
  • Refillable Water/hydration system (min 500ml)
  • Windproof jacket
  • Snacks/gels/nutrition
  • Cash (£20)

Please bring a reusable cup if you would like some electrolyte drink from the aid stations.

Prizes

All runners will receive a unique finishers medal.

Additionally the male & female winners will receive a trophy.

Getting there / Accommodation

The start/finish and event base is located at:
Hill Farm, Aston Hill, Halton, Aylesbury, HP22 5NQ.

Hill Farm has camping facilities which can be booked via their website.

The event base is a 10 minutes drive from Wendover itself, where there are hotels, B&B's and a train station.

Trains

There are two trains from London that will get you to Wendover in time for registration, these leave at 07:57 & 08:27 and arrive at 08:45 & 09:15
